Chat with headspace<\/span><\/h1><\/div>\n\n\n

The chat is for you who are between 12 and 25 years old,<\/strong> and who need to talk through your thoughts and feelings,<\/strong> and what is taking up a lot of space<\/strong> in your mind.<\/p>\n

Nothing is too big or too small. We\u2019re here if you need someone to listen,<\/strong> and we\u2019re also happy to help you find the right support elsewhere<\/strong> if needed.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The chat counselling<\/strong> is free and anonymous. Read more about this below in the section \u201cWhat can you see about me?\u201d. When you start a chat, you\u2019ll be taken to a questionnaire where you can fill in your age, gender, municipality, and what you want to talk about \u2013 you remain completely anonymous. When a counsellor is available, you\u2019ll be connected to a conversation. Sometimes there may be a short wait.<\/p>\n

If there is a wait,<\/strong> you\u2019ll be informed of your place in the queue. When a counsellor becomes available, a sound will play, and you can start the chat. In urgent or life-threatening situations, we refer you to 112.<\/p>\n

Everyone can need someone to talk to, and we\u2019re here to listen when something in life feels overwhelming.<\/p>\n

There may be waiting times, but our skilled volunteer counsellors work hard to reach everyone who wants a conversation. It\u2019s not possible to request a specific counsellor, but we can guarantee that no matter who you talk to, you remain anonymous, and we\u2019ll always do our best to help you.<\/p>\n

In the chat, you\u2019ll meet a headspace counsellor who is ready to talk with you about exactly what\u2019s weighing on your life.<\/p>\n

At headspace, many of our counsellors are volunteers. All our counsellors have completed mandatory training, and there is always a staff member present to support them in every conversation.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>How much can you see about me?<\/span><\/a><\/h6><\/div>

In the chat, you can always be anonymous. This means we can't see who you are, where you are or what you are doing.<\/p>\n

During the chat conversation, you may provide us with information about yourself. We use this information to provide you with the best and most effective support and advice possible. Therefore, we always ask for your consent to process the personal data you provide during the chat conversation before you can chat with us.<\/p>\n

If you do not want us to process your personal data, please be aware of what information you choose to share with us during the chat conversation.<\/p>\n

When you start a chat, you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire. We use this information to better serve you and others who use our chat.<\/p>\n

Duty of confidentiality, duty to notify and duty to prevent\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>
\nIn the chat, we want to create a safe space where you can share your thoughts without worrying about it being passed on. That's why all our volunteer and paid youth counselors are bound by confidentiality, which means they are not allowed to share what you say with anyone outside of headspace.<\/p>\n

Under the law, confidentiality may be overridden in certain situations. Staff and volunteers in the chat are therefore required to notify the municipality if we become aware of, or have reason to believe, that a child or young person under 18 needs special support, or if we learn that a child or young person under 18 is being neglected or subjected to degrading treatment by their parents or other caregivers, or is living in conditions that endanger their health or development. The purpose of this is to ensure that the child or young person receives the necessary help.<\/p>\n

All adults in Denmark have a duty to prevent harm according to the law. This means that in certain cases, if we assess that you are a danger to yourself or others, headspace may ask for your identity to ensure you receive the right help. This applies, for example, if you are at risk of suicide or have plans to harm another person.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>How long can I chat?<\/span><\/a><\/h6><\/div>

A chat conversation usually lasts between half an hour and an hour.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Can I chat with the same counsellor again?<\/span><\/a><\/h6><\/div>
\n

You\u2019re always welcome to return to the chat \u2013 as many times and as often as you need.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not possible to request specific counsellors, but we can guarantee that no matter who you talk to, you remain anonymous, and we will always do our best to help you.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>What if I\u2019m not exactly sure what I want to chat about?<\/span><\/a><\/h6><\/div>

In the chat, we don\u2019t require any preparation before the conversation. You can write about big or small things, and we\u2019ll start wherever it makes the most sense for you. Some people like to have a few sentences ready before the chat begins, which can also be helpful, as it gives us more time to ask questions.<\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

<\/i><\/i><\/span>Can I also visit a headspace centre?<\/span><\/a><\/h6><\/div>

If, after our chat, you\u2019d like to book a conversation at one of our many headspace centres, you\u2019re very welcome to do so.<\/p>\n
