headspace Halsnæs is now officially open

headspace Denmark has now officially opened the doors to headspace Halsnæs, where young people between the ages of 12 and 25 can have free and anonymous conversations about the things that take up their everyday lives without an appointment.

On Wednesday, November 27, a reception from 13:00-14:30 will mark the official arrival of headspace in Halsnæs. The reception will take place in headspace Halsnæs’ new, beautiful premises in Vognmandsgade 12, 1st floor in Frederiksværk.

The new center offers Tuesday to Thursday talks and bridge-building for young people aged 12-25 who need a chat about big or small issues. The center's staff and volunteers are also responsible for outreach efforts at schools and educational institutions throughout Halsnæs Municipality.

“Unfortunately, too many young people are struggling with their mental health and problems that grow out of control, and it's no different here in Halsnæs. With headspace, we hope to create a safe and easily accessible place where young people can get help when they need it. As a municipality, a collaboration with headspace makes a lot of sense, as it can both help relieve our employees and provide a really good link to our own services if needed,” says Steffen Jensen, Mayor of Halsnæs Municipality.

Headspace conversations do not require an appointment and there is no record keeping. This means that children and young people can easily come and talk about big and small issues - whether it's heartbreak, mental vulnerability or family challenges.

The establishment of headspace is taking place in close collaboration with Halsnæs Municipality and with valuable support from Sparekassen Sjælland-Fyn and Rotary in Hillerød.

”We have far too many children and young people who are unhappy all over the country. We want to help change that - both for our children and young people and their families and relatives. We are therefore very pleased to be able to help open headspace Halsnæs, which will be an important hub for early help for children and young people throughout Halsnæs Municipality,” says Lars Petersson, CEO of Sparekassen Sjælland-Fyn.

In the new center, young people will be met by the inclusiveness and dialogue at eye level that characterizes headspace's work with young people in more than 30 centers across the country.

“We are grateful for the collaboration with the municipality and local partners that has made it possible to establish headspace in Halsnæs. We come with over 10 years of experience and a concept that focuses on meeting young people on their terms and helping them before their problems grow too big. We know how important it is for young people to be met with time, trust and confidence when they reach out. And we know that strong local partnerships like this one with Halsnæs Municipality are absolutely crucial if we are to break the curves of unhappiness among young people in Denmark,” says Benedikte Kiær, chairman of the board of the Social Network/headspace Denmark and mayor of Helsingør Municipality.

headspace Halsnæs is located in Vognmandsgade 12, 1st floor and is open Tuesday to Thursday from 12-18.

All young people aged 12-25 are welcome, whatever their needs may be.
