Become a Volunteer Youth Counsellor

Are you passionate about talking to young people?

At headspace, we are always looking for new volunteers who are passionate about helping young people.

You can be a student, job seeker, working or retired. We love diversity in our volunteer group, so there are no specific educational backgrounds required. The most important thing is that you have a strong desire to have conversations with young people who need someone to talk to and that you can create a safe space for young people.

About headspace

headspace is a counseling service for children and young people aged 12-25. At headspace, no problem is too big or small, which is why we talk to young people about everything from heartbreak and family conflicts to difficult feelings such as loneliness, worry and low self-esteem. We already help many young people and with your help, even more can have someone to talk to.

We offer

With us, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in counseling conversations while making an important difference for many young people. You will receive introductory training on values and methods, and you will receive daily sparring and ongoing supervision so that you can constantly develop and become even better at helping the young people you talk to. You will also have the opportunity to meet many wonderful colleagues who, like you, are passionate about youth counseling.

If you can see yourself as

  • Welcoming, curious and at eye level when meeting young people
  • Bridge builder and mediator
  • Active participant in sparring and supervision
  • responsible, collaborative and community-oriented
  • Open to learning and development
  • Someone who can contribute to a rewarding and enjoyable volunteer culture
  • A person who is willing to spend a minimum of 12 hours a month volunteering at headspace.

...then headspace is for you!

We look forward to hearing from you!
