GET HEADSPACE TO YOUR MUNICIPALITY
headspace helps prevent mental illness and strengthens young people’s mental health. The Danish Health Authority recommends headspace as a low-threshold service that municipalities can prioritise to ensure early intervention and better use of resources.
A CLOSE COLLABORATION
Establishing a local headspace centre requires close cooperation between the municipality and headspace Denmark. headspace is responsible for recruiting volunteers, hiring staff, and managing operations, while the municipality contributes with operational funding, facility costs, and a municipal staff member for a few hours each week.
EARLY SUPPORT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE
headspace creates a safe and welcoming space where young people can share their thoughts anonymously and get help before their problems grow. We also reach young people who are not already in contact with the municipality and complement the existing municipal services.
VOLUNTEERS AND COMMUNITY
headspace mobilises volunteers dedicated volunteers whose experience and commitment help create unique relationships with young people. This strengthens civil society and supports young people in new and meaningful ways.
OUTREACH WORK
We’re present where young people are — in schools, educational settings, and local communities. Through workshops and educational sessions, we promote mental health and make it easier for young people to reach out for help.
BRIDGING TO OTHER SERVICES
When young people need more support, headspace builds a bridge to relevant services such as therapy, municipal support, or doctors — always on the young person’s terms.

Initiative that makes a difference
We work with concrete initiatives such as career and education choices through Hvad Kan Jeg Blive? and the prevention of school dropout. In addition, we collaborate with the country’s dioceses in mindU, which focuses on psychological and social vulnerability during confirmation preparation. At the same time, we strengthen our youth counsellors’ skills in having conversations about relevant topics.
