Knowledge about Young People and Mental Wellbeing
headspace values knowledge highly
headspace is the largest nationwide, preventive, and mental health–promoting civil society initiative for young people aged 12–25 who experience challenges related to their mental wellbeing. Our face-to-face counselling is accredited by RådgivningsDanmark..
All conversations at headspace are anonymous, but our analysis unit continuously collects data about who uses headspace, what’s on young people’s minds today, and how our counselling helps and supports them in achieving better mental wellbeing.
This means that we base our services on continuously collected data, giving us a unique and valuable insight into young people’s mental wellbeing.
We use our knowledge and data to create the best possible counselling service for children and young people, to share what we know for the benefit of others, and to inspire and launch new initiativesthat can work to promote mental health specifically for children and young people.
You can find our annual reports, research reports, and project evaluations on this page.

Effects for the individual – from the first to the most recent conversation at headspace, based on “Face-to-face Counselling at headspace,” 2020/2021.

headspace 10 YEARS!
The first headspace centres opened their doors in September 2013, and in 2023 we celebrated headspace’s 10th anniversary.
We have gone from very few centres around the country to being nationwide in the years gone by, and we're proud of that.
Get the whole story about headspace, from the very first idea, which arose after an international conference in Copenhagen, to a trip to Australia, and finally to the signing of the first partnership agreements with municipalities — all of which are captured in our anniversary book. It tells the story of how a dream became reality. Happy reading.
