Become a peer volunteer at headspace Family

Would you like to use your experience as a family member to bring hope and help others?

We need YOU as a peer volunteer at headspace Family. We are currently looking for peer volunteers at our 5 headspace centers: Helsingør, Holbæk, Guldborgsund, Aarhus og Faaborg-Midtfyn.

headspace Family is a counselling service aimed at improving the wellbeing of children and young people aged 12-25 by providing their parents and family members with the support and guidance they need. We offer a confidential space for both individual and family conversations, focusing on mental wellbeing for all. We talk about everything from everyday worries to complex and difficult challenges. With your help, even more people will have someone to talk to.

At headspace Family, counselling is primarily conducted by volunteers, supported by employees and the organisation. . The sessions are mostly face-to-face, but we also offer phone and video calls. There are options for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, with each shift lasting 3-3.5 hours.

Your personal experience means that the people seeking help from us feel seen as equal and on the same level. It provides hope and strength to see others who have been through challenges living meaningful lives and having the capacity to help others.

We provide you with the tools and prepare you well, and together we create a safe space to talk about emotions and challenges related to being close to a young person struggling with wellbeing.

  • Be approachable, engaged, and cooperative

  • Be able to contribute at least 12 hours per month for at least one year
