Ny forskning bekræfter øget trivsel hos unge i headspace

I headspace oplever vi hver dag, hvordan vores rådgivning gør en forskel for unge, særligt dem, der har det allersværest. Nu viser ny forskning fra Region Hovedstadens Psykiatri, at vores indsats ikke bare føles hjælpsom – den har en reel og målbar effekt på unges trivsel og mentale sundhed.

Om evalueringen, der er en del af et femårigt forskningsprojekt, udtaler forskningsleder Lene Eplov:

”Vi konkluderer, at headspace spiller en afgørende rolle i opsporing og støtte af unge i mistrivsel. Med deres store forebyggende og sundhedsfremmende potentiale er headspace en vigtig aktør i indsatsen for unges mentale sundhed. Overraskende nok viser undersøgelsen også, at det er de unge, der er i størst mistrivsel, der har størst effekt af headspace.”

 

Det glæder os enormt, at forskningen bekræfter det, vi har hørt fra de unge i årevis: At et trygt rum til at dele tanker og bekymringer kan skabe en positiv forandring. Når unge kommer til os, mærker de, at de ikke står alene, og at der er nogen, der lytter – uden at dømme og uden lange ventetider.

 

Forskningen viser, at de unge, der bruger headspace, oplever en mærkbar forbedring i deres trivsel og en større tro på egne evner til at håndtere livets udfordringer. For mange betyder det, at de får mere overskud i hverdagen og en følelse af at kunne navigere bedre i deres liv. Derfor håber vi også, at denne forskning kan være med til at skabe større forståelse for vigtigheden af tidlig støtte til unge i mistrivsel.

Når vi investerer i unges mentale sundhed, investerer vi ikke kun i deres liv lige nu – vi skaber også et stærkere fundament for deres fremtid.

New research confirms improved wellbeing for young people at headspace

At headspace, we experience every day how our counselling makes a difference for young people, especially those facing the toughest challenges. New research from the Copenhagen Research Unit for Recovery confirms that our efforts are not just perceived as helpful, but they have a real and measurable impact on young people’s wellbeing and mental health.

Regarding the evaluation, which is part of a five-year research project, research leader Lene Eplov states:

“We conclude that headspace plays a crucial role in identifying and supporting young people in distress. With its significant preventive and health-promoting potential, headspace is a key player in efforts to improve youth mental health. Surprisingly, the study also shows that the young people experiencing the greatest distress benefit the most from headspace.”

 

We are thrilled that the research confirms what we’ve been hearing from young people for years: that a safe space to share thoughts and concerns can lead to positive change. When young people come to us, they feel that they are not alone and that someone is listening, without judgment and without long waiting times.

 

The research shows that young people who use headspace experience a noticeable improvement in their wellbeing and a greater belief in their own ability to handle life’s challenges. For many, this means having more energy in their daily lives and a stronger sense of control over their future. That is why we also hope this research will help foster a greater understanding of the importance of early intervention for young people in distress.

When we invest in young people’s mental health, we are not only investing in their lives today. We are also building a stronger foundation for their future.
